RD Tutor, founded by Year 11 students Renzo Biancheri and Darius Ferdows in the summer of 2024, is a peer-driven initiative aimed at supporting LGB students in their academic journey. Offering tutoring in most subjects for Year 11 and below—with specialised maths sessions extending to all grades—RD Tutor ensures quality by hiring tutors who have achieved the strongest of academic results. Currently, the team consists of 7 tutors and a media manager to boost the clubs outreach and find more students in need.
This club was created with a clear mission: to make tutoring accessible, affordable, and convenient for all students. The tutors know that outside-of-school tutoring services are costly and logistically weak, but RD Tutor removes all these barriers by offering support within the school at lower prices. As students, the founders and tutors understand the challenges that are faced in grades 7-11, from understanding difficult concepts to preparing for assessments and learning study techniques. Using their experience and past assessments, they provide specific help for each unit. Student tutoring is different from all other kinds of tutoring, students feel more comfortable to ask questions and most times find it easier to learn from someone who has recently gone through the same classes, teacher, and assignments.
In terms of the subjects RD tutors offer, there are Math, English, French, History, Geography, Economics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Sports Science. Including all the levels for these subjects which the tutors have also gone through and performed at the top of the class. If needed, anyone can ask for the grades from the tutors to serve as a form to prove that the tutors are at the top of the students in year 11.

If you want you can choose your tutor, or just choose the subject and the tutor will be appointed to you. Classes can be done individually or in groups of up to 3 people, which can be easier for collaboration. The club is very flexible in the location for classes and usually for the time of classes too.
The plan for the future is to continue growing and improving the club’s services as well as hiring more tutors when needed. RD Tutor hopes to hire tutors from the grades above to offer more classes at higher levels while maintaining an in-school project. If you are in the grade above, are doing well in your subject, and have free time, feel free to contact us concerning a tutoring position. In terms of the money the club will eventually donate the profits to the “Save the Children” organisation in Switerzland.
