Las Voces de Quíos es una plataforma creativa en línea para estudiantes refugiados en la isla de Quíos, en Grecia. Las Voces de Quíos fue lanzada en febrero de 2017 como una plataforma virtual para reflexiones críticas y creativas de los niños y niñas refugiados en Quíos. Esta plataforma publica poesía, prosa, arte, opiniones, fotografía y vídeos hechos por jóvenes artistas y escritores. Las Voces de Quíos está dirigida por Action for Education, los cuales trabajan con colectivos que han sido desplazados para construir caminos de vuelta a la educación.
Action for Education es una organización que comenzó en 2018, formada por un grupo de voluntarios y activistas. Uno de los proyectos que crearon fue un libro llamado Las Voces de Quíos, con textos y dibujos que hicieron niños refugiados de la isla de Quíos en Grecia, en el que expresaron sus experiencias vividas.
Para concienciar a la gente sobre la situación en Quíos, durante la Semana de la Lengua Española, Palabras Más y AFIE (Asociación de Funcionarios Internacionales Españoles) organizaron un evento en el que Sara López y María Nonay tuvieron la oportunidad de participar, leyendo algunos de los textos escritos por los refugiados. Estos textos habían sido traducidos de su idioma original al inglés y luego al español por diferentes voluntarios.
Tuvimos la idea de traer este proyecto en LGB. Nos volvimos a poner en contacto con Palabras Más para compartir nuestras ideas sobre el proyecto. Una vez que recibimos los dibujos y textos escritos por los niños refugiados, enviamos un formulario a los cursos 10, 11 y 12 para que pudieran traducir los textos que quisieran a diferentes idiomas. Una vez hecho esto, nuestra idea es crear pósters con algunos de estos textos en diferentes idiomas en la escuela y, si es posible, organizar una lectura de estos en el auditorio de la escuela. Nuestro objetivo principal es apoyar y difundir información sobre la situación de los refugiados en Quíos, para que el máximo de gente posible colabore y así logremos ayudar a estos niños y niñas que han vivido experiencias devastadoras a una edad muy jóven.

The Voices of Chios is an online creative platform for refugee students on the island of Chios in Greece. The Voices of Chios was launched in February 2017 as a virtual platform for critical and creative reflections of refugee children in Chios. This platform publishes poetry, prose, art, opinions, photography and videos made by young artists and writers. The Voices of Chios is run by Action for Education, which works with groups who have been displaced to build pathways back to education.

One of the projects they created was a book called The Voices of Chios, with texts and drawings made by refugee children from the island of Chios in Greece, in which they expressed their lived experiences.
To raise awareness about the situation in Chios, during the Spanish Language Week, Palabras Más and AFIE (Association of Spanish International Civil Servants) organized an event in which Sara Lopez and Maria Nonay had the opportunity to participate, reading some of the texts written by the refugees. These texts had been translated from their original language into English and then into Spanish by different volunteers.
We had the idea to bring this project in LGB. We contacted Palabras Más again to share our ideas about the project. Once we received the drawings and texts written by the refugee children, we sent a form to classes 10, 11 and 12 so that they could translate the texts they wanted into different languages. Once this is done, our idea is to create posters with some of these texts in different languages in the school and, if possible, organize a reading of these in the school auditorium. Our main goal is to support and spread information about the situation of the refugees in Chios, so that as many people as possible collaborate and so we can help these children who have lived devastating experiences at a very young age.
