Meet Peak StuCo !

By Zina Samawi, Year 10

I  would like to introduce you to the new StuCo members, Wladimir Duroux, Jenna Mullen, Marielle Markovitz, Sofia Ensink, Matthew Dodd, Jack O’Neill and Lucile Allender.

I had the privilege of interviewing the members of Peak StuCo whom I found to be brilliant with lots of experience

This year, Peak StuCo wants to take a big step forward in technology and social media. They are in the process of creating an application where we can get information needed about the school. This astonishing application will give us access to the LGB express website, extracurriculars and a calendar of all of the upcoming school events.

Our school is very diverse but they want to develop better communication between the staff, students and different grades. Being motivated, the group is taking advantage of the new StuCo system, allowing all grades to communicate better. They are organising many new events including, a scary movie night, a student fashion show, a FIFA night, a winter formal dance for the year 9,10 and 11 and a prom dance for the 12th and 13th grade.

I was impressed with how unified the group is, having clearly defined tasks. Jenna is the chairperson and the one in charge of the group, Wladimir is responsible of the social media, Marielle is the secretary, Sofia is the event manager and organiser, Lucile handles the communication, Jack is the public speaker and Matthew is in charge of financial matters.

The StuCo members are preaching the importance of hard work, respect and being polite at this period in our lives, in order for it to pay off during adulthood. Peak StuCo also advises younger grades to be involved in extracurricular creative activities in and out of school.

I thought it would be interesting for some members to describe themselves with an emoji, here it goes…
