By Madeleine Gabriele, Y10
Her eyes shone
from the light reflecting off
the droplets forming in
the already red eyes
which prepared yet again
for a waterfall of tears
which streaked down her face.
Knock on the door
wipe them away.
Smile and say it’s allergies
just doing my work,
“Yeah, I’m studying for a test.”
No one actually sees it
it’s easy to hide.
They ask why you don’t open up and
why you put up such high walls
“It’s because I’ve learnt to act every day,”
she thinks to herself,
but it’s tiring pretending all the time.
