The 2020 US primaries are in full swing, and the race for the Democratic nomination has finally whittled down to two contenders. Earlier this year, a crowded field battled for press attention, funding and points in the polls.
After many months of campaigning and debating, it is now a race between Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and former Vice President Joe Biden, who picked up some much-needed momentum on Super Tuesday, where he won the second-largest delegate prize: Texas, among other states.
On the other hand, new hope for Sanders arrived when the other liberal in the race, Elizabeth Warren, dropped out of the race. This will most likely give Senator Sanders a boost among women and college-educated professionals, groups among which Warren was previously very popular.
The first indication of whether Warren dropping out from the race will have a significant impact on Sanders’ chances will be on Tuesday, when six more states head to the polls. The picture will start to become ever-clearer over the coming months.
