Catharina Moenig, Year 12
Anyone who’s ever considered studying medicine knows that the entry requirements come close to having saved the world at least thrice. To make the task of applying less daunting and increasing everyone’s chances to get in I started a medical society at LGB. It’s open to anyone who’s interested in studying medicine but focuses on Year 12s as they will be applying to universities. In this group we exchange ideas, talk about our work experiences, discuss medical topics, familiarise ourselves with different healthcare systems, do entrance exam prep, prepare personal statements/common app essays, practice for interviews (U.K.) and revise together for subjects like Biology HL and Chemistry HL. If you’re interested in medicine, and I mean really interested, this group is an absolute must not only because it counts for CAS but because you will be really increasing your chances of getting accepted and after all that’s the goal.
