Walking through the first floor of the Salève, students can once again hear Mr. Cameron’s iconic Scottish accent! After a lengthy and unfortunate absence, he returned to school last week. He has been an essential part of the Physics department for over a decade, and his return was thus welcomed by many students who were affected by his untimely absence.
However, despite his long time here, there are many things people don’t know, including his love for cooking, alpine sports and Teslas (Ok, we lied; the last one is well known).
Mr. Cameron is also well known for his passion for football and adoration of the Geneva Scottish Football team, which was the regrettable cause of his accident. Last May, while playing football, Mr. Cameron injured himself, tearing all the ligaments in his shoulder. To recover from this dreadful injury, he had to have surgery, followed by an extended stay at the hospital.
While recovering during the following weeks, he once again injured himself. This time, however, it was his back. As a result, he had to have a second surgery, before he had even fully recovered from the first.
Mr. Blake was also absent for some time at the end of the last school year, and the Physics department was thus quite short-staffed. During this time, Mr. Sergei replaced Mr. Cameron’s classes, while Dr. Larson, a retired math teacher from LGB, replaced Mr. Blake’s classes.
Now that Mr. Cameron is back, Sergei has unfortunately left our school, as there is no more need for a replacement. But, on a brighter note, the Physics department is now at full capacity once again!
