Are you stressing out for your math exam in a few weeks? Here is some advice to improve your math grade.
Firstly, math is a subject which you cannot get a good grade for by studying the night before. If your exam is in two weeks, start studying RIGHT NOW! This does not mean sitting down on a chair and solving random questions for 2 or 3 hours. In fact, if you do this, your brain will explode. So how do you work efficiently?
I know that you have loads of other subjects to study for, however, spending 30 mins on math every day is enough to get a good grade on your exam. BUT, here is what you are NOT supposed to do in that 30mins of studying. If you are getting all of the exercise correct, great! But that is not called LEARNING because you are going to get them right anyways. Therefore, it is important to go back and solve only the ones you got wrong. Now, it would have been very helpful if you marked the ones you got wrong during the year. Realizing what you don’t know and figuring those out will bring your grade to the next level. If you didn’t mark your mistakes, don’t cry. Now you know what to do next year!
Another key point to increase your math ability is to not give up. I’m pretty sure anyone can relate to: “Ohh it’s just a careless mistake, I technically got it right. I will probably get it next time.” But is it that simple? No. To overcome this problem, don’t move on to the next question, repeat solving the same question until you get it right. To truly check if you understand, try explaining it to yourself. I know how frustrating this could be sometimes, but this pain will one day bring a 7 on your test or exam.
Tips on the exam day.
It is very important to get your brain prepared for some math. In order to do this, 30 mins before the exam, solve some math. You don’t even need to hold and pencil, just think of the steps in your brain. It’s just as simple as that! I don’t recommend solving hard questions because this might make you nervous and do worse. Solve easy questions to bring your confidence up!
Good luck to anyone who is reading this article. I’m sure you will do great if you follow my advice CORRECTLY! 🙂
