Last week you voted and this week they answered. Here are the best tips from the teachers who won best style at LGB!

- How do you feel about being chosen as one of the teachers with the best style?
E.D: Cela est une belle surprise, d’autant plus que j’ignorais qu’un tel « concours » existait ! Bien entendu, je suis fière et honorée et, avant tout, amusée. Je remercie tous ceux qui ont “voté” pour moi. En tant que professeure, je sais que je suis observée tous les jours. Parfois les élèves disent même, devant la classe, qu’ils aiment un vêtement que je porte et, bien entendu, cela me fait plaisir.
A.K: There is some really tough competition at the school, so it’s really flattering to be considered among the best-dressed. If I’m being completely honest, it’s probably one of the greatest honors in my life.
F.W: I have just five words to say: what took you so long? I was feeling like those actors who wait all their lives for the Oscar. Eat your heart out, Anna Wintour.
- What advice can you give about picking out an outfit in the morning?
E.D: Le plus souvent, je prépare mes vêtements la veille et adapte ma tenue en fonction des conditions météorologiques du matin. Il faut s’organiser, et je trouve plus agréable de pouvoir être prête plus rapidement si j’ai préparé mes vêtements la veille.
A.K: I’m always in a huge rush in the morning, so I just try to wear clothes that don’t have food stains on them. I think that’s my best advice.
F.W: Plan, plan, plan.
- Do you have a favorite brand?
E.D: En règle générale, j’évite les grandes marques, car je trouve étrange de devoir payer afin de faire la publicité à une marque. J’aime choisir les vêtements dans les petites boutiques lors de mes voyages, par exemple. Une amie est couturière et rien ne me fait davantage plaisir que lorsqu’elle me fait une jupe…
A.K: I did, but they went out of business last year. I’ve been a little lost since then.
F.W: Well, I was really into Stella McDuffy until my doctor told me that her bags were responsible for a woeful number of cases of scoliosis. These days I’m into Paloma Carrasco, a new Spanish designer – and of course, there are the classics, Jorge Hermana y Donna Caramba.
- How long does it take you to choose your outfits?
E.D: Pour moi, le choix est rapidement fait ! Je ne reste jamais plus de 5 minutes devant mon armoire pour choisir mes vêtements.
A.K: When the weather is really obvious, like really hot or really cold, it’s pretty quick. When we have in-between weather, it always takes a bit longer.
F.W: I plan my outfits months in advance. I use charts – and when I need inspiration, I call Madame Dimcovski. Mr Powers subscribes to my use of charts, bien entendu. Daily matching ties don’t just happen, people. He and I are currently working on a new ap we’re thinking of calling DressAp.
- How long does it take to pick out the clothes you like while shopping?
E.D: D’habitude, je me décide prestement si une pièce me plaît, je n’hésite pas. Mais je peux également rester une heure dans une boutique, essayer une multitude de vêtements ou d’accessoires et sortir les mains vides, si rien ne me plaît.
A.K: I try to be quick as I don’t have a lot of spare time, but I also have an image to uphold. I am a fashion icon, after all. I’m considering hiring a style consultant and personal shopper.
F.W: I do all my shopping at fashion shows. It is extremely time-consuming as it involves a lot of travel: Milan, Paris, London, Ulaanbaatar….
- Do you have any tips for the students when it comes to style?
E.D: Le bon style, c’est celui dans lequel on se sent bien. Mes vêtements sont colorés, originaux et ils me correspondent. L’image que je véhicule, c’est la personne que je suis. Ma devise est qu’il est nécessaire de travailler en s’amusant et le vêtement peut refléter cet état d’esprit. Je m’habille en fonction de mes envies et non pas en fonction de la mode.
A.K: I think luxury brands are pretty silly. At the end of the day, jeans are jeans. Spend your money on things that are really important. Like cheese.
F.W: Yes, listen to your mother, especially when it comes to school attire. I read a study recently that concluded that the way you dress can be a source of distraction to yourself, never mind others, hindering precious concentration. Así es.
