PSA: If you are easily disgusted, this article may not be for you!
School bathrooms. The breeding ground for all bacteria and diseases still unknown to man. Dirty floors, broken toilets, fluids smeared all over the floor tiles, faulty stall doors, a lack of toilet paper and at least one puddle of stagnant pee on the floor. How many times have you been dying to “pass water” and thought to yourself, “just hold it in, only five periods left in the day until I can pee in the comfort of my own home?” I know this happens to me at least once a day. It’s safe to say school bathrooms don’t have the best reputation. Although LGB’s bathrooms are not perfectly clean, most are usable, which is not always the case in high schools.
Now for the reason you clicked on the article: the best bathrooms on campus.
For starters, the Arts Center. Arguably the most usable bathrooms on campus. Which is really a shame considering many of us drop visual arts, drama and music. Don’t get me wrong; they’re really nothing special, just somewhat above average.
The doors actually lock, the sinks actually close and they were stocked up on TP! (Also the selfie lighting is great, but that’s just a bonus!)

Next, the Château. Home to our beloved geography, history, philosophy, economics and, for some of us, French classes. Also home to what I find to be some of the nastiest bathrooms on campus. Downstairs are the only unisex loos for students at LGB. You may be asking, what makes the Château’s bathrooms so terrible? Well, see for yourself…
Overflowing trashcans, weird yellowish lighting, unnecessary graffiti. And the windows are ALWAYS open, so parents have a perfect view inside when picking up their kids from the primary school. And worst of all, it’s right next to the boys’ bathroom!

The Salève. Where many of us spend most of our day. Math, chemistry, physics, biology, STEM and the locker rooms. Thanks to Peak STUCO, its bathrooms are no longer considered “the worst bathrooms on campus”. They were renovated last year and are now surprisingly polished! Not only are the bathrooms upstairs reasonably clean, the “new” STEM center’s bathroom is in almost pristine condition.
The Salève bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. They were clean, the doors locked, the lighting was great and the mirrors were spotless!

Last and most definitely least, the Grand Bâtiment bathrooms… The main hangout spot for that short five-minute break between double periods. Whether it’s double French or English, I guarantee you’ll always find a group of friends in there. That does not, however, mean it is a pleasant place. In fact, it is probably one of the last places you would want to be, and you’ll see exactly why.
To begin, for the sake of this article we’ll clarify that the first picture is a nosebleed. Nevertheless, pretty gross! Also, there were worse pictures than the ones selected, although I decided to spare all of you. Broken walls, rude graffiti, dirty floors, broken walls… You get the point.
Overall rating: 2.0
I strongly recommend after reading this article either 1) You hang tight and sit through those five periods until you can pee in the comfort of your own home or 2) Use the Salève or the Arts Center bathrooms. But never, EVER, the Château or Grand Bâtiment.
Special thanks to Sabine PJ for the pictures!
3rd floor saleve bathrooms are nice too
