By Chuyin Jin, Year 12
As you plunge your knife through my chest
I look into your eyes one last time before I leave
They were like two stars shining in the sky
As bright as the sun and as dark as the night
As if it brightened the night and darkened the day
Yet those visions died after a graze from your metal blade
The initial warmth I felt vanished without any traces
My hopes of staying here flew away
As soon as the cold blade entered my body
For once and for all, your true colours appeared
Followed by the numerous streaks of blood left behind
It was not until then that I saw you for who you are
I felt you through the blade
You wanted my selfish love to cease
You never wanted to accept me
Because you did not deserve to be loved like I loved you
